Shri Shikshayatan Holds Streetplay

Shri Shikshayatan Holds Streetplay
“Diamond jubilee celebration”

The Shri Shikshayatan School is commemorating the 60th year of the school,
JUBILARE 2015. The month of January has events galore, which began with a Panel Discussion on the 3rdJanuary, followed by a number of Inter-School competitions.
The primary and the senior section of the school performed street plays on the 19th of January, Monday, 10:00 am onwards. Street plays are essentially performed to spread awareness, with this thought in mind; Shri Shikshayatan has taken the initiative to uphold two burning social issues of the day – “Women Empowerment” and “Conservation of Environment”. From the genesis of the school in 1954, Shri Shikshayatan has dedicated itself to the education of girl students, by ensuring simultaneous development of the Spirit, Mind and Body.
College Square and Y Channel were the two venues where the primary and the senior sections performed the street plays. The theme chosen by the primary section was “Emancipation of Women”, life skill, performed by 22 students. The theme of the senior section was “Environment” and the title was “Chalo letsmake our Prithvi Green”. The message spread by the students was to save bio     – diversity through afforestation. The characters of this play were biotic and abiotic ones, performed by 11 students.

As always Shri Shikshayatan School takes the endeavour to encompass academics and the development and understanding of global themes among its students and thereby enhances their holistic growth.
