Shri
Shikshayatan Holds Cultural and Academic Events
The Shri Shikshayatan School is
commemorating the 60th year of the school, JUBILARE 2015. The month
of January
has events galore, which began with a Panel Discussion on the 3rdJanuary,
followed by a number of Inter-School competitions.
The school organized the Interschool Classical Dance Championship,
MUDRA SYNC, 2015 20th January 2015, amongst the junior & senior students
from 10:00 am onwards, which consisted of different categories from classes VI
to XI. Various Educational Institutions also participated to make this event a
success. The Chief Guest was Odissi Dance Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya. The eminent judges for the day were Dr Amita Dutt,
Mrs Momm Ganguly and Mr. Kohinoor Sen Barat.
Various Schools participated in this event; Apeejay School
Saltlake, Apeejay School Park Street, Modern High School for Girls, Mahadevi
Birla Worlds Academy, Shri Shikshayatan School, Lakshmipat Singhania Academy
and Sushila Birla Girls School.

Apart from academic excellence, the school also promotes extra-curricular
activities like Drama Club, basketball, Rugby, and many more.
Students are trained to deal with life through different skills
which is promotes holistic growth of the students and it is completed with
value education and environmental awareness shared Mrs. Bratati Bhattacharyya. The
school has been adjudged the best green school by Centre for Environment in
association with Government of India, Ministry of Environment & Forest. Shri
Shikshayatan has also been awarded the prestigious International School Award,
an accreditation from the British Council, in 2009 and 2013.
Shri Shikshayatan School has undertaken projects on Global School
Partnership and Connecting Classroom partnership in Conisborough College,
London. Projects like `Steps against Women Trafficking', `Fight against
Plastic' and `Safety for Women - Discrimination in India' are some key global
issues that Shri Shikshayatan School has worked on with its International
Partners as informed by the Principal Mrs. Indrani Ganguly
The members of the Nature Club for have worked for sustainable
development of the environment which has been highly acclaimed and recognized
by the Centre of Environmental Education. As part of Community Service,
School's Leadership Training Service members have collected and contributed a
generous amount of funds for charitable purposes.
Shri Shikshayatan Girl Guides have been the proud recipient of the
RajyaPuraskar and made meaningfully contributions to the society as leading
scientists, engineers, lawyers, economist, doctors, educationists etc.
Two of its alumni, Padmabhusan Dr Isher Judge Ahluwalia,
Economist, and Dr KusumKhemani, Secretary, BharatiyaBhashaParishad, are among
many.
