Shri Shikshayatan School a unit of Shikshayatan Foundation is celebrating its
60th year - Jubilare 2015 an Inter School fest.  The celebrations started from 3rd January, 2015 i.e. the
Foundation Day of Shri Shikshayatan School, and will be continued till 18th April, 2015 according to Bratati Bhattacharya, Secretary General, Shikshayatan Foundation, and also the secretary of the school. The celebrations will be viewed with different events which includes sports, cultural event, art & craft and academic.
The fest took a leap with the Chess Championship – a mind game amongst the junior & senior students from 10:00 am onwards, students consisted of classes from IV to XI. This “Mind game” motivates and promotes not only fun, but it also develops academic and life skills as said by Bratati Bhattacharyya. The mind game was designed in such a way so as to give fair chance to each and every player and there was no knockout. There were around 82 participants from different schools in Kolkata according to Indranee Ganguly, Principal Shri Shikshayatan School.  Grand master Dibyendu Barua and award winner Arjuna along with Grand Master Sandipan Chanda was the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour.  64 Squares one of the new and unique chess club in Kolkata conducted the chess competition. The 64 squares chess club associates with prestigious Kalighat Milan Sangha Club and few NGOs catering to the needs of young, needy and old enthusiastic chess lovers as said by Bratati Bhattacharyya.
Apart from academic excellence, the school has excellent domains of co-curricular activities like Drama Club, basketball, Rugby, and many more. French has been an apart of the language curriculum of the school. The holistic growth of the students is completed with value education and environmental awareness and has been adjudged the best green school by Centre for Environment in association with Government of India, Ministry of Environment & Forest. It also promotes road safety and sanitation campaigns. An exchange programme with Bangladesh is on the anvil. Shri Shikshayatan has also been awarded the prestigious International School Award, an accreditation from the British Council, in 2009 and 2013.
Shri Shikshayatan School has undertaken projects on Global School Partnership and Connecting Classroom partnership in Conisborough College, London. Projects like `Steps Against Women Trafficking', `Fight Against Plastic' and `Safety for Women - Discrimination in India' are some key global issues that Shri Shikshayatan School has worked on with its International Partners as informed by the Principal Mrs. Indrani Ganguly The members of the Nature Club for have worked for sustainable development of the environment which has been highly acclaimed and recognized by the Centre of Environmental Education. As part of Community Service, School's Leadership Training Service members have collected and contributed a generous amount of funds for charitable purposes.

Shri Shikshayatan Girl Guides have been the proud recipient of the Rajya Puraskar and made meaningfully contributions to the society as leading scientists, engineers, lawyers, economist, doctors, educationists etc. Two of its alumni, Padmabhusan Dr Isher Judge Ahluwalia, Economist, and Dr Kusum Khemani, Secretary, Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad, are among many. Shri Shikshayatan has tied up with AVIVA - Save the Children initiative. Under the programme, “Each One Teach One”, girls teach under-privileged children. Students of Shri Shikshayatan are also working under the guardianship of NGOs like Hope, Smile Foundation, Udbhas and Prayas. As part of these projects, the School organizes “Children’s Day”, “Sports Day” and “Joy of Giving Week” for the not-so-fortunate children.
