Hundreds of Counterfeit Crocs Products
Seized, Two Arrested, During Raids in West Bengal, India
Crocs, Inc. (Nasdaq: CROX), a world leader in innovative casual footwear for
women, men and children, today announced that recent raids in West Bengal,
India, resulted in the seizure of hundreds of pairs of counterfeit Crocs
products, including bags and footwear, as well as two arrests. The raids are
part of Crocs’ proactive anti-counterfeit enforcement campaign with local
authorities.
“Crocs takes its intellectual property very seriously
and will continue to aggressively protect the brand against those who unfairly
trade off Crocs’ goodwill,” said Sara Hoverstock, Vice President and Associate
General Counsel.
The recent raids were carried out againstNew Shalimar
Shoes, D.S. Gurung Road, C.K. Chowk, Kalimpong-734301, West Bengaland against Jay
Maa Trading Company, Seth Shreelal Market, Siliguri-734004, West Bengal, India.
The owners of the stores were arrested and goods seized
from both raids are stored in a police warehouse and will be produced before
the Magistrate in due course of the proceedings.
