Calcutta Business School to launch PG Programme for banking, financial services and insurance sector

THE 1-YEAR POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME IS AIMED AT BRIDGING THE DEFICIT IN SKILLED MAN-POWER REQUIREMENT FACED BY THE INDIAN BANKING, FINANCIAL SERVICES AND INSURANCE (BFSI) SECTOR WHICH IS GROWING AT AN IMPRESSIVE 10.7% (CAGR) PROVIDING ROBUST EMPLOYMENT AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES TO THE YOUNG ASPIRANTS ACROSS INDIA

Kolkata, 2014: Calcutta Business School (CBS), one of the leading B-Schools of Eastern India, today announced the launch of a 1-year Post Graduate Certificate Programme aimed at the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector in India with assured career placements.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between CBS and Secunderabad-based  domain experts, Stratadigm Education & Training Pvt Ltd, today at the B-School campus in Kolkata. “This unique Post Graduate Cerificate Programme in Banking, Financial Services & Insurance is customised to provide guaranteed career placements to students in the burgeoning BFSI sector in the country. Calcutta Business School (CBS) is the first B-School in the eastern region to start the PGP Programme,” said Dr Goutam Sengupta, Director, Calcutta Business School.
“The coming together of CBS and Stratadigm has the primary objective of helping students build a career in the fast growing Banking, Fianancial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector in India. The focus of the course is on building careers and not just getting into a job,” said M Thyagarajan Balasubramanian, CEO, Stratadigm, a Secunderabad-based company with domain expertise in BFSI sector.
“As a leading B-School, our objective is not only to provide excellent career opportunities to the young but also to help meet the huge skilled-manpower deficit that the Indian banking, insurance and financial sector is facing. The demand for quality manpower is set to increase manifold as new private and foreign banks are gearing up to enter the fray coupled with the Government's policy initiative to expand the scope and sphere of banking services in the country.  This PGP course would go a long way to enhance employability of students and ensure their absorption by the industry,” said Dr Goutam Sengupta, Director, CBS.
There would be initially 60 seats opened to graduates from any discipline to be selected through a common admission test. The course would start from August/September 2014.
