Mirage Art Gallery, one of the most vibrant and exclusive
art galleries in town held an exhibition named, “GANESHA- THE VIGNAHARTA” which was inaugurated by Hon'ble Smt. Alka Bangur, Industrialist
& Social Worker. “GANESHA- THE VIGNAHARTA” is a multitalented art show
that showcases the beautiful and striking paintings and scluptures of some of
the distinguished and notable artists like Anjan Bhattacharya, Ashish Gupta,
Ashok Kumar Dey, Avisankar Mitra, Nripen Nath, ,Rajib Sur Roy,Indrajeet
Narayan, Chandan Roy, Raj Rishi Mukherjee,Nitasha Choudhury, Ritu Poddar,
Vandana Lohia and many others.
The owners of Mirage, Mr.
Virendra Daga and Mr. Sandip Somani, have once again come up with the
brilliant idea of exhibiting the awe inspiring and splendid work of arts that
are of paramount importance to the art lovers of the city. Thus, Mirage aims to
cater to the aesthetic needs of the people and has been established with the
motto of generating, sustaining and developing people’s interest for art and
creativity. The gallery strives to create a mark in the realm of paintings,
sculptures, and ceramics, besides its eclectic assortment of art that brings
together the MODERN, the CONTEMPORARY, the ABSTRACT and EXPERIMENTAL art that
have been displayed in the exhibition.
This exhibition brings
together an eclectic collection of the forms of Ganesha in the modern, contemporary,
abstract as well as experimental art. Lord Ganesha is one of the most popular
deities in the Hindu pantheon and is considered to be the Lord of success and
destroyer of evils and obstacles. Lord Ganesha is also worshipped as the god of
education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth. The group exhibition incorporates
varied exhibits of paintings and sculptures showcasing good quality art work. The varieties including different mediums as acrylic on
canvas, tempera on board, pen & ink on paper, Natural dye and pigments, oil
on canvas with gold and semi precious stones are amongst the galore collections
for the show. The different forms of paintings from different states that have
become popular and have found its place in international domain of art as
Madhubani from Bihar, Kerala style from South, Folk art from the North East and
Patachitra from Orissa are amongst the highlights of
the show. The sculptures
include Murals as well as the bronze wall hangings as the striking feature.
Mr. Virendra Daga, one of the founders of Mirage Art Gallery,

recognize the extent of different means and ways of creative expressiveness. At

The exhibition at Mirage Art Gallery is on from 18th August to 19th
September, 2012 between 12 noon to 7 pm (except Mondays).
