Huge quantity of duplicate spare parts seized in a chain raid by Kolkata police

The Kolkata police on Monday conducted a chain raid in the three different locations of the city and arrested the duplicators in a shop selling counterfeit Kent Ro Membrane & Inline sediment filter along with ancillary parts/ accessories. These were being unlawfully manufactured and sold under the identical brand name 'Kent' The manufacturer is unlawfully selling spare parts with Kent Brand Logo.

As per the report of Kolkata Police raid resulted in the seizure of 134 pcs of counterfeit Kent Ro welded membrane, 133 pcs of counterfeit Kent sediment filter, 236 pcs of counterfeit Kent inline carbon filter, 8 pcs of counterfeit Kent DP 100 PUMP, 375 pcs counterfeit Kent RO spare parts kit along with stickers bearing the logo of Kent Ro.

Kolkata police got into action on Monday after several complaints & conducted a seizure operation at the premises of Glowmex India at J L Nehru Road, Galaxy Enterprise at New road press club & JJ Associate at Radha bazar Street. The Company is run by Sukanta Kundu, Kartick Mondal & Ranjit Sin Jain who have been engaged in such mall practices from quite a long. During the investigation other names were revealed by Glowmex India which led to the arrest of other two duplicators.

Following a complaint lodged against all three duplicators & with the permission of conducting raid by Bidisha Kalita (IPS), Enforcement Branch Kolkata police team led by Mr. Jugal Koshore Dwan from Kolkata Police Station raided the shop & lodged FIR against three owners.

Revealing this information, the Kent RO’s brand custodian agency said that, “It was observed that there is a large racket behind, not just identical but duplicate spare parts of leading brands were also manufactured here and then supplied to various cities. The party is rolling out spurious products and is playing with the health of innocent consumers".  Kent is aggressively pursuing the seizure of duplicate parts by appointing investigating agencies in all parts of India. More raids and seize operations will be conducted soon to unearth this entire racket involved in counterfeit and duplicate RO purifiers.
