iLEAD Convocation 2017 – Off To See
The World
iLEAD
bid farewell to an outstanding batch of management and media professionals who
will be making a mark in the society with their leadership and entrepreneurship
skills. Students along with their parents attended iLEAD Convocation 2017 on 15thand
16thJuly at the Dale
Carnegie Auditorium. The theme for the convocation was “Off to See the World”, a flight simulation to create a memorable journey
which covered places like Dubai, Beijing
and Istanbul. The three floors of the institute were adorned in the décor
of these three places. The ground floor was decorated as Beijing, the second
floor as Dubai and the top floor as Turkey in colours of Istanbul.
The
destination of “iLEAD Airlines” a complete simulation of an actual flight
experience was Bejing International Airport. The convocation ceremony on Day 1,
started with addressing the students of the graduate and post graduate level management
pass outs by iLEAD Chairman Mr. Pradip Chopra
and chief guest Ms Rekha G Warriar,
the Regional
Head
of Reserve bank of India who is also the regional director of West Bengal, Sikkim
and Andaman Islands of RBI. She was felicitated by iLEAD chairman, Mr. Pradip Chopra. The management faculty
and students in their ceremonial graduation gowns experienced the convocation
which was nothing short of being glamorous like the other leading B schools of Kolkata.
First
it was the turn of the BBA batch of 2014- 2017 who were praised for their approach in studies and co-curricular activities. After
the certificates were given, Lee Yen Tien
Jacklyn was presented with the Award for Overall Attendance for BBA and Siddharth Gupta won this award for the
MBA batch. The award for Best Performer
in Academics for BBA batch was won by Soumendu
Maitra and for MBA batch this award was given to Suresh Chandra Shaw.
Then
it was time for the final awards and the award for Best Contributor in Co-
curricular activities was won by Nikita
Shah from BBA. The award for Best Performer in Sports was given to Arsheen Amanfrom BBA. Finally the Student
of the Year Award was given to Abhishek Tiwari
from BBA.
Some
dynamic BBA and MBA pass outs spoke about their educational experience and
memories in iLEAD. Finally the ceremony came to an end with the announcement of
the flight landing at Beijing International airport. This was not the end of
the occasion and there were dance performances on some hit Bollywood numbers by
the juniors.
Day
2 of the convocation ceremony in iLEAD was for BMS and MSc batch of media
science. The chief guest of the occasion was Mr. Snehasis Sur who
presented the trophies to the meritorious students of the 2014-17 BMS and MSC
2015-17 batches of media studies. Mr.
Snehasish Sur is currently the Bureau Chief of Doordarshan Kolkata and has
vast experience as a journalist and media person in Radio and Print industry.
From
the BMS batch, the Best Overall Attendance award was given to Rajasmita Dutta andthe award for Best
Performer in Academics was given to Anisha
Das. BMS pass out Aisha Sheikh and
MSC pass out Shruti H Popat and Anisha Das shared their experience and memories
of being a student at iLEAD. The top performers in the MSC batch included Sanchari Halder for Best Overall Attendance,
and Shagufta Rahaman, for Best
Performer in Academics. Yatika Kochar
won the award for Best Contributor in Co-Curricular activities and Lekha Lohia was the winner for being
Best Contributor in Photography.
At
the convocation, iLEAD also launched its new travel initiative “Window Seat”
which included travel deals like Western Caribbean Cruise on Harmony of the
Seas, the biggest cruise ship of the world for Thanksgiving 2017.
The
teachers of the media science also shared their experience about the passing
out batch through a very heart rendering video footage. The convocation
ceremony on both days ended with an eating arrangement at the rooftop adorned
in Turkish market décor with dishes like Mongolian Wok, Crepela, Veg Pizza and
much more. Students and their parents
were elated with the Convocation and this occasion will be cherished in the
hearts of iLEAD Alumni for a long time to come.
