FoodTech India 2015 - the 14th International Food Bakery Tech & Hotel Tech Exhibition, the largest business-to-business (B2B) exhibition in eastern region on food and hospitality industry, will be held in Kolkata from August 21st  to 23rd, 2015, at the Milan Mela Exhibition Complex in Kolkata.

While this year's exhibition would focus on “food safety” and eastern India, Northeast and neighbouring countries Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh, some of the leading companies from Singapore, Taiwan and Japan would be participating in the Exhibition. Also, some of the biggest multinational brands from the chocolate industry like Duke, Morde, Jindal Cocoa, Danisco would also be participating at the Exhibition.

“This year we have increased the Exhibition area by 15 per cent and it would cover an area of 85,000 sq ft and four AC Halls. This prestigious Exhibition will draw audience from across India and over 100 reputed companies from India and abroad will showcase under one roof the latest products and services cutting across hotel, confectionery, equipment, catering equipment, tableware, food packaging technology, food flavours and additives, industrial refrigeration, hotel and food chain consumables etc,” said Mr Zakir Hossain, Regional Head, N K Kapur & Co and the Chief Convener of the International Exhibition.

 The three-day mega exhibition, one of the largest business to business (B2B) events in India organized each year in Kolkata by Delhi-based firm N K Kapur & Co Pvt Ltd, would be on from August 21 to 23, 2015. The premier exhibition has three main segments namely Food Processing, Bakery & Confectionery and Hospitality sectors.  Over the three days of the Exhibition there would be seminars, conferences, product launches, buyer-seller meets, interactive sessions with students, culinary competitions and free-sampling.

The Indian food industry which presently stands at close to US$ 135 billion with a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10 per cent, is expected to touch US$ 200 billion by 2015. The food processing industry in India attracted foreign direct investments (FDI) worth US$ 5,793.95 million during the period April 2000–March 2014, according to data published by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP).  The combined market growth in the hospitality, food processing and confectionery & bakery sector in West Bengal has been around 20 per cent per annum which is one of the highest in India.
