Mr. Rajeev

and determination of the team, the Turnover of approx. Rs. 2,200 Crores and Net
Profit of approx. Rs.190 Crores for the twelve month period ended March 31,
2015 remained almost at the same level of the Turnover and Net Profit achieved
during the twelve month period ended March 31, 2014. However, for the fifteen
month period ended March 31, 2015 we achieved a Net Turnover of Rs.2,694 Crores
and a Net Profit of Rs.231 Crores. We registered a single digit growth during
the twelve month period ended March 31, 2015 due to the unexpected challenges
in implementation of the new Supply Chain IT Systems which have now been resolved
and also due to sluggish demand coupled with increase in competition and
unprecedented deep discount offerings by many ecommerce players in India.”
Our rate of Industrial production is hovering
around 3% for the current fiscal year as compared to 4.6% in the last year.
Retail inflation is presently estimated at 5.4% and the overall economic
environment continues to remain challenging with sluggish demand from the
customers.
We are constantly making advancements &
introductions to our product ranges not only in styling of the designs but also
in materials & technology. We want to become the Pioneers of Comfort
footwear in the country with our extensive offerings from Hush Puppies,
Naturalizer, Scholl and Comfit range. We have also launched the Loyalty Program
called “The Bata club” to help us to understand our customers better in the
long run. Also, a lot of focus is now put on enhancing the customer’s shopping
experience within the store and the same is done through an aggressive training
program for the sales staff.”
The company has been growing remarkably in all the
aspects and will continue to undertake many new projects to ensure the strong
leadership position and continuous progression in the footwear industry.
