Lladró unveils “Ram Darbar” a limited
edition sculpture,
this Diwali!

signing event
Kolkata, 2013: Angeles Lladró, Vice President of the Spanish luxury
porcelain company, Lladró visits India to unveil a special limited edition
sculpture this Diwali – “Ram Darbar”, at their flagship boutique at Lladró South
city Mall Boutique, Kolkata.
This visit also served as a perfect platform for Lladró’s patrons to interact
with the member of the Lladró family directly and get her to sign the
pre-booked sculptures, making the piece of art exclusive for these loyal
customers.
Speaking
on the occasion, Angeles Lladró, Vice President, Lladró said, “I
believe the country is at its high during the festive season, so it’s a
pleasure to introduce Ram Darbar, just before Diwali, at our newly
opened boutique in Chennai. The evolution in our designs and themes is an
inspiration from the rich heritage, traditions and customs that exist in India.
We take pride in introducing yet another exquisite piece of art and a special
collection in form of a Hindu deity, adding to our spirit of India collection.
Another reason for us to celebrate is that the brand has completed good 60
years and we wish to share the joy and happiness of having arrived this far and

“Ram Darbar” summarizes the best expressions of Lladró’s work
and includes the highest level of excellence that the Lladró family has to
offer. The sculptures of Lakshman and Hanuman capture the essence of
unflinching devotion to the Divine Couple. Drawing from the Hindu iconography
and embellished in finery, both Lakshman and Hanuman are depicted in their
traditional posture, next to Ram and kneeling in prayer respectively. This new
creation is a limited edition of 1800 pieces and is approx 46 x 29 cm,
available worldwide.
“Ram Darbar” is a part of “The Spirit of India” Collection,
which includes other Sculptures such as Goddess Lakshmi, Ganesha series, Divine
Love, Radha Krishna, Lord Krishna, Sacred Cow, Indian dance etc. The luxurious

About Angeles Lladró:
Angeles Lladró is the daughter of Juan, the eldest of the three
founding Lladró brothers. She studied Graphic Design, Sculpture and Painting.
She worked for one year at the implementation of Lladró Museum in New York.
Given her serious interest in the process of elaboration of porcelain, she
returned to Spain to continue her training in the production department at
Lladró for a further than three years, including participating on the
Creativity Committee. After this experience, she joined the Lladró Board of
Directors in 2003 and she also represents the family at official acts and
promotional events. At the same time, Angeles furthered her professional
formation with a Master in Business Administration at the ESADE Business
School. Since 2007 Ángeles shares the management of the company with her sister
Rosa, they both manage the company side by side together with their father,
Juan Lladró. Nowadays, Ángeles is Vice-President of Lladró.
