JD Birla Institute celebrates
A Special Annual Sports Day
on completing 50 glorious years

THE INSTITUTE TO ENCOURAGE UNDER-PRIVILEGED AND SPECIAL NEEDS
CHILDREN FROM DIFFERENT NGOs TO PARTICIPATE IN SPORTS

JD Birla Institute (JDBI) organized their Annual Sports Day function to celebrate the completion of 50 glorious years today at the Gitanjali Stadium, Kolkata.
Students of JDBI and under-privileged and special needs children from different non-governmental organisations (NGOs) participated in the competition in the presence of JDBI alumni, guests and dignitaries.
JDBI, which is also engaged in various social welfare projects, extended this sporting opportunity to the disadvantaged children so that they too could participate in activities and experience the same excitement and enthusiasm like other children. This would also help them to develop self confidence, sporting spirit and motivate them towards their goal.
Dr. Deepali Singhee, Principal, JDBI said, “This event is really significant for us and we are looking forward to organize various activities for them.”
“Sports are always exciting but this year, being the 50th Anniversary, we are very excited about the event,” one of the students said.
In the past five decades, the Institute has grown catering to the needs and demands of the changing times. JDBI and its departments are affiliated to Jadavpur University and has an A grade rating (CGPA of 3.11) from NAAC.
The Institute provides both graduate and post-graduate degrees. The college has bagged the College to Look Out for and the Best Maintained College awards by the Lions Club of Calcutta.
