CBS students organise
blood donation camp
The students and faculty members of Calcutta
Business School (CBS), in association with the Lion's Club, District 322B1 Blood
Bank, organised a voluntary blood donation-cum-awareness camp at the B-School
Campus today as a part of their ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR)
initiative.
Mr Somdeb Bandopadhyay, (Inspector-in-Charge),
Chief Guest, flagged off the camp in the presence of Director of Calcutta
Business School, Dean – PGDM, faculty and CBS students. He congratulated all
the students, the faculty and the Director for organizing such a camp.
"We are overwhelmed by enthusiastic
response from the students of CBS. We at CBS have been promoting activities
that have a direct and positive social impact and are in sync with global
concepts like sustainable development, volunteerism, eco-friendliness, waste
management and so on," said Dr Goutam Sengupta, Director, CBS. He also
thanked Lions Club district 322B1 officials and doctors for conducting the camp
at CBS.
"Management principles would be meaningless
if it fails to carry out social responsibilities. Blood donation is one of the
simplest and most important social contributions one can make for the greater
good of society. We the students at CBS, along with others, just did
that," said Anshul Agarwal, first year PGDM student.
