Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee inaugurated a Rs 165 crore Edible
Oil Refinery Plant project of JVL Oil
Refinery, a unit of JVL Agro Industries Ltd, at Haldia today at a function attended by Shri Partha
Chatterjee, Minister-in-Charge Commerce & Industry and IT, Subhendu
Adhikari, MP, Seuli Saha, MLA (Haldia) and other distinguished guests and well
wishers.
“The Government will
extend full support to industries in Bengal. We want industrialization but not
at the cost of country’s interest. I would urge JVL to consider prospects of
initiating sunflower farming in the state that would help the poor farmers,”
Mamata Banerjee said.
JVL Agro Industries Ltd
(ISO 9001-2008 certified) is a leading manufacturer with Jhoola brand of Refined
edible oil, mustard oil & saturated fat in India. The Haldia plant, with world’s
latest technology for manufacturing best quality product and the production
capacity of 1200 metric tons per day would help JVL to expand its reach in the
whole of eastern India and generate direct and indirect employment for more
than 1000 people. The expected annual turnover of this plant is around Rs 1500
crore.

to garner a larger share of the edible oil market in east India and provide
complete vegetable oils solutions to the consumers,” said Mr. D N Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, JVL Agro Industries Ltd.
The finished products
from the Haldia plant would be sold across 10 states i.e. West Bengal, Orissa,
Jharkhand, Assam & other NE states. JVL Agro Industries has, through
continuous research and development (R&D), introduced a range of healthier
oil varieties in the market. The company is equipped to manufacture a complete range
of vegetable oils solutions and currently has a network of over 1,00,000 retail
outlets spread over 17 states. JVL is
also one of the largest crude edible oil importers in Northern and Central
India.
JVL Agro Industries
Limited, formerly known Jhunjhunwala Vanaspati Limited, owns the single largest
manufacturing unit for saturated fats in India. It provides a complete vegetable oil solution
like Palm Oil, Soybean Oil, Mustard Oil and saturated fats. The company is
already having 3 manufacturing plants at Naupur (UP), Pahleja (Bihar) &
Alwar (Rajasthan) and this new Haldia plant is 4th in the series.
The turnover of the
company has been Rs. 2958 crores in the year 2011-12. It is listed at Bombay
Stock Exchange & National Stock Exchange.

Malaysia, Argentina and Brazil. Now it has also spread its wings in
