South African Tourism
will be hosting Module III of its popular classroom training session ‘Learn
South Africa’ for its travel partners from June 12 through July 28, 2012.The Learn
South Africa training programme was launched in 2010 with the objective to
enhance knowledge of frontline staff
about South Africa. The success and feedback received over the past two years
encouraged South African Tourism to not only further improve the method of
training but also extend the traning programme to 30 cities across India this
year compared to 14 cities last year.
‘Learn South Africa’
is a unique programme which aims to train travel professionals to promote, plan
and organize attractive packages to South Africa as per their Client’s varied needs
and desires. The module aims to provide in-depth knowledge on the Rainbow Nation,
in a more interactive session which allows travel agents to better understand
the offerings of South Africa as a preferred travel destination and therefore
enabling them to cater to the wide-ranging requirements of Indian travelers.
Commenting on the new
and exciting module of Learn South Africa, Ms.
Hanneli Slabber, Country Manager, South African Tourism said, “Over the
years we have been receiving huge number of tourists from India, making this
country one of our core focus markets for growth. As you might be aware, in
2011, 90,367 Indians visited South Africa which is a 26.2% jump compared
to 2010. Keeping the growth potential in mind, we will continue
investing in training our trade partners to create profitable partnerships
that can only benefit the consumer in the long run.”
“Basis feedback
received from travel agents who attended previous modules and from the consumer
insights drawn from the Indian market, we have revamped the module to make it
shorter, smarter and exciting. We have also revised the content to make it more
palatable to Indian traveler in achieving his aspirations” said Ms. Slabber.
Registration for this
programme is free and does not restrict the number of participants from each
company. Due to the limited availability of seats, travel professionals can register
by writing to the board on learnsa@avian-media.com
at the earliest. Dates for the training sessions in Mumbai will be announced in
due course. The schedule for Learn South Africa III across the first 24 cities
