Polycom emerges as a leader in the Indian Videoconferencing sector



Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM) the global leader in open standards-based unified communications (UC), has been announced leader in the India Video-conferencing market simultaneously by Frost & Sullivan and Voice & Data 100.

Leading research firm Frost & Sullivan honored Polycom India with the Video Conferencing Equipment Vendor of the Year award for 2011. Polycom India has won this award for the second consecutive year. The company previously won the Frost & Sullivan award for Market Share Leadership in Video Conferencing Endpoints and Infrastructure in 2008 and 2009.

Polycom has also emerged as a leader in the Audio-Video Conferening segment analysis carried out by the Voice & Data 100 for the year 2011-12. As per Voice&Data estmates, the company had a marketshare of 49%, and had grown 20% in revenues, in FY 2011-12 as compared to FY 2010-11.  According to Voice&Data estimates, the audio video conferencing industry grew by 16% to register Rs. 391 crore in FY 2011-12 compared to Rs. 337 crore in FY 2010-11.
