Basic electronics
workshop at Shri Shikshyatan
Kolkata: A workshop on basic
electronics is going on at Shri Shikshyatan School. It is jointly organized by Kolkata-based
Kalpana Chawla Centre for Space and Nano Sciences and Shri
Shikshyatan School and will end on May 3, 2012.
This is for the
first time that such a workshop is being held at Shri Shikshyatan School. The workshop, which started on April 23, 2012
is a basic training program for students of age group 18-21 years. Students who
have scored 80% and above in board exams and are from class XI to 1st year B.Sc/BTech/BE
(excluding applied Electronics and Electronics and Communication Engineering)
are eligible to take part in the workshop.
Dr Santanu Datta,
founder director of Kalpana Chawla Centre for Space and Nano Sciences said,
“These workshops are held to encourage bright students through practical
training so that they can assemble kits themselves and also design and perform
scientific experiments themselves in their own field of study using electronic
equipment.” In short, Dr Datta added,
such workshops would help students remove the fear about machines.
About Shri Shikshyatan School:
January 3, 1954 saw the genesis
of Shri Shikshayatan School. It is the dream child of its founder body Marwari
Balika Vidyalaya Society. This is a school dedicated to the education of girl
students by ensuring simultaneous development of the Spirit, Mind and Body.
