iLEAD conducted a session on Online Marketing to make the students aware of the nature and scope of Information technology and Digital Marketing. The speaker of the session was Ms. Moumita Dasgupta, chief of Content Marketing of Innofied Solutions (an award winning organization catering services in Web Development and Designing, Content Marketing and Digital Merchandising).  She started the session by introducing the audience to the role of digital marketing in human lives and organizations.  She said Marketing is about creating values in minds of customers. Self Marketing and Brand Marketing are the two modern facets of marketing communication through digital modes. The biggest advantage of Digital Marketing lies in the fact that its reach and capacity of hitting the consciousness of the varied layers of society is much more than the traditional media. Social media is a great example of Digital Marketing platform where news, issues, views, analysis and branding can be done in the most dynamic way. Ms. Dasgupta showed the audience a presentation on the varied fields of Digital Marketing which included- Search engine optimization, Social Media optimization, Pay per Click, Content marketing etc.  She even told about the role of search engine optimization in keeping the most quality level content at the top page of the major search engines. Importance of Apps for searches, S.W.O.T Analysis and Online Advertisements were discussed too. Career Opportunities in Online and Digital Marketing are Digital Media Strategist, Business Development Executive, Search Engine Optimization, Copy and Content Writing, Accounts Management and Social Media Executive to name a few. She concluded by saying that Digital Marketing as a career requires deep introspection and sound decision making skills.

The recent Alumni Talk session at iLEAD by Vivek Bagda (iLEAD Alumni) was engaging and interactive. Vivek Bagda was the VP of Student Council from 2013-14 and started the tradition of college fests like Adrenaline and Managedia. After his graduation he went to Jaipur to work in the world of Real Estate and a year later he joined Siddha Group as a trainee and soon with the dint of his dedication was promoted as Commercial Head for 3 construction projects.    
 
At the talk session he shared his skills of leadership, entrepreneurship and personality development from iLEAD.  He emphasized on the need for networking in the industry for future prospects. He shared the benefits of student exchange programs at iLEAD that included his visits to China and United States of America. He also mentioned the range of topics like Human Resource Management, Accounting and Economics that had a great impact in his professional life.   Students look forward to more such interesting talk sessions.

Eastern India's largest annual business-to-business (B2B) exhibition on food and hospitality industry – the 16th International Food Tech India Bakery Tech & Hotel Tech Exhibition - is expecting to clock Rs 30 crores of business-to-business (B2B) transaction in the four-day exhibition inaugurated today. The Exhibition had notched up spot B2B transactions worth Rs 20 crore last year. The Food Tech India 2017 Exhibition would be on till October 29, 2017, and open each day from 10:30 am till 6:30 pm. The Exhibition will expand its footprint beyond India for the first time and hold an Exhibition in Dhaka in association with the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).

The Food Tech India Exhibition, which is held in Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore recently made its debut in Guwahati. “From next year we shall open our Bangladesh chapter by taking this FoodTech Exhibition to Dhaka next year in association with the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Bangladesh Auto Biscuit & Bread Manufacturers Association,” said Mr Zakir Hossain, Regional Head of N K Kapur & Company and the Chief Convener of the International Exhibition.

A Harry Potter theme based quiz contest was organized at iLEAD.  The jury was Ms Mom Mitra, faculty of Media Science and Yash Kariwal, alumni of Media Dept.   The quiz was hosted by two students of iLEAD – Rohit Chaukhani and Mehul Agarwal. The quiz contest was divided into five rounds – Riddles From Tales and Adventures of Harry Potter, Spellbound Round On The Spells Described in The Story, Audio Visual Questions From The Various Films Of Harry Potter, Spellbound Round On The Spells Described In The Story, Marking Theme Session In The Human Chess Round and The Final Round comprising of questions from Harry Potter books.  The photo booth’s décor outside the auditorium was set up in Hogwarts style.  The teams participating in the quiz were – Black, Potter, Malfoy, Weasley, Granger, Longbottom, Snape and many more.  The winners of the quiz were team Longbottom (iLEAD students Mayank Agarwal and Anirban Das), followed by second position won by team Snape and third position by team Weasley.  The quiz ended with felicitation of the winners and quiz souvenirs given as token of appreciation to the quiz participants.

iLEAD organized a unique workshop on taxi drivers and operators for strengthening the tourism scenario of India. The event was organized in partnership with Ministry of Tourism- Govt. of India. The traffic association officers gave the taxi drivers and operators different tips and suggestions for obeying traffic rules and the way of providing a better service to the tourist and visitors. Mr. Chopra showed the audience a short presentation which dealt with the unknown tourist places where taxi drivers and operators can take the visitors and tourists for making them aware of such historically rich places. After the presentation there was a question answer round where taxi drivers and operators clarified all their doubts regarding traffic rules and other things related to travel and tourism operations. This interaction clarified many doubts about traffic rules and the governance of the tourism industry but also made the relation with traffic police more understanding and cooperative. Thereafter there was a short session regarding hygiene and cleanliness. The session focused on how a taxi driver should keep their taxi clean and maintain their personal hygiene. This helped the taxi drivers to get a better idea of how to carry themselves. At the end of the workshop, the taxi drivers were given a small token of appreciation.

iLEAD organized a session on promoting Indian tourism through the joint effort of the Murshibad Heritage Society and Govt. of India- Ministry of Tourism department .The Tourism department is organizing a Paryatan parv till 25th October 2017. The event on 7th October (a part of this festival) at iLEAD was centered on showcasing some tourism related films and encourages tourism.
 Mr. Sanjeev Dey Chowdhuri, Cultural representative of Ministry of tourism opened the session speaking about the objectives of the tourism festival. He emphasized on the fact that the festival will showcase the various facets of the rich diversity of India. The tourism festival will comprise cultural programs, interactive sessions, workshops and many more such activities to make the common man aware of his locality, city and the entire nation. Mr. JP Shaw – the Eastern division head of the Ministry of Tourism gave the welcome address of the session where he told about the rich geographical diversity of the country and the concept of attracting visitors from within India and the world, 365 days in a year and not only in certain particular months like from October to March.
He even put attention towards the fact that the Ministry of tourism is also committed to make the travel and tourism scenario vibrant through proper training of the tourist guides who are the real ambassadors of the nations. The other initiatives in this regard by the Ministry of Tourism also include recognition and classification of all kind of Hotels, lodges, inns, guest house and paying guest accommodation for all kind of visitors. Two videos were shown on incredible India for making the audience understand the beauty and diversity of India through the eyes of a foreign traveler. Two tourism related films were shown during the event which included- ‘Mystique of Murshidabad’ and ‘Gangasagar’. Both government and private bodies are participating in the festival such as iLEAD, Indian Museum, ASI, Ministry of Tourism of State and Central Government etc. 
    
Mr. Pradip Chopra, addressed the audience during the session and told about his vision of promoting tourism in India. He emphasized on the fact that travel and tourism is the fastest growing industry in the world and every individual in the city should be first aware about the stories related to his locality and city. He even told about the Chinese community which had great contribution in the cultural heritage of India. The travel documentary film ‘Mystique of Murshidabad’, focused on the rich historical legacy of this erstwhile capital of Bengal. The film focused on the areas of Azimganz and Jiaganz and Jagat Seth’s house.  Glimpses of Murshidabad Heritage Festival were also shown in the film. The film was a presentation from the creative and Media team of iLEAD.  
  
The second film shown in this category was Ganga Sagar which is directed and produced by Dr. Monojit Adhikari. The film showcases the history behind the advent of Ganga river in India and the reason of the celebration of Ganga Sagar festival on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. Dr. Monojit Adhikari is a reputed travel documentary film maker who was an assistant of several documentary films made on diverse aspects of travel and tourism of India. He is even working as a liason officer in the tourism department of the Government. He is also a documentary film maker on socio cultural aspects of India and specially Bengal where he tries to capture the real life of people living in different walks and cultural backgrounds of society through his lens. He is also an entrepreneur and has started an organization named Shilpagraha which works on rural women and handicapped children and even old people of the villages. Mr. JP Shaw felicitated Dr.Monojit Adhikari for his outstanding contribution in the Indian tourism Industry. The session came to an end with the thought that Indian tourism has a bright prospect ahead through massive participation of the common man and the youth of our nation.

QNET Entrepreneurs Mark Festive Season by Raising Funds for Underprivileged Community in 17 Cities

  • Money raised to fund education, medical needs, life-saving surgeries for children, orphanages, old-age homes, and others in need
  • 24 events planned across 17 cities in the country
  • Pledged sums ranging from INR 1 Lakh to INR 5 Lakhs in each city

Independent representatives (IRs) of Direct Selling company QNET are marking the start of the festive season by coming together, nationwide, to raise money for less privileged communities around the country. Around 100 young entrepreneurs, who run a successful direct selling business with QNET, have pledged between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakhs per city towards important causes benefiting a local community in need. This is the third year these QNET IRs are initiating such an exercise during the festival season to reinforce their commitment to helping their communities.

Funds raised by the group this year will be used to help orphanages, homes for the disabled and the elderly, and for children in need of life-saving medical treatment. The first initiative was launched in Mumbai at the Jupiter Lifeline Hospital where the group sponsored heart surgery for children from low-income families.

The group has planned 24 other such charitable initiatives in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Hubli, Mangalore, Mysore, Patna, Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Jammu and Meerut, between October 6 and October 18, 2017.

As part of charitable drives, one of the IR groups in Kolkata led by Mr. Batakrushna Sahoo is sponsoring books, stationery items and also providing some refreshments for around 65-70 kids supported by ‘Entally New Hope Welfare Society,’ a city-based NGO. The group is also providing free medical checkup and medication for up to 120 patients supported by this welfare organization, besides sponsoring white boards, markers, dusters and other stationery items for a night school run by the NGO.

Throughout the three-month campaign, Bridgestone India will reach out to men and women through its Select outlets in several cities with a pack of four pink valve caps where proceeds will be donated to the Tata Memorial Hospital. Additionally, Bridgestone India will also donate ₹ 10 for every tyre sold to its Select dealers in the period November 2017 to December 2017.

NEZ International Film Festival 2017 for the third consecutive time at iLEAD campus

iLEAD organized NEZ International Film Festival for the third consecutive year in association with  NIFF Director Mr Sumit Modak and Dr. Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar- Founder of NEZ Group. During the three days of the event, features, documentaries, shorts and ads were shown in the festival. iLEAD Chairman, Mr. Pradip Chopra, a distinguished educationist and philanthropist shared valuable words in this occasion and focused on the fact that film making should not only be restricted to creativity. He spoke about the importance of film media in removing the negativities of the society which are hampering the future generations. He also said, the derogatory publications in print and electronic media are hampering the mindset of the youth. Miss Rita Jhwar, co founder of NEZ Group is a Film Producer, Chartered Accountant and Builder. She was also the producer and cinematographer of the film Neti Neti. Miss Jhwar told the audience about the power of Films which registers in our mind than any other format of communication. She even told about the objective of Film Media as a potent tool of spreading love and good message. After the valuable comments of Miss Jhwar, Mr. Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar,  the founder of the NEZ Group, an award winning director, painter, psychologist and poet told the audience about his vision of film making which deals with making people dream and setting a ground for people where people can talk about their dreams and aspirations. He also stressed on the point that his vision of film making goes beyond traditional film commerce and focuses on generating affirmative and meaningful ideas. Mr. Sarkar even appreciated the role of iLEAD as one of the best Media colleges in Eastern India and Mr Pradip Chopra’s vision for the Filmmakers and Media activists of current and future scenario. Ms Mandeep Ghai, associate festival director of NEZ International Film Festival was also present to grace the occasion at the iLEAD auditorium.   
 The films shown during the festival included –

‘Innocent Killer’ –a 97 minute Australian Film directed by Jon Claire and Asif Khan based on the life of an Indian Australian murderer and an intriguing artistic exploration of the mind of a serial killer. 
·         ‘Kichutta Somoy- A Few Moments’ ,  a Bengali film directed and produced by Saswati Bandyopadhyay revolves around the crisis in urban society.
·          ‘Palyadawai’- A film directed and produced by Pragati Kolage based on the real life events of the hapless Paradhi Tribes in Indian subcontinent. The film is 2 hours or 120 minutes in length.
·         ‘Pularum Iniyum Naalekal’- A film directed by Shilpa Krishnan Shukla, is a deviant romantic drama where the lovers who were once madly in love have moved on to help each other realize their shortcomings, discarded dreams and tenacity of relationships with their spouses. The duration of the film is 1hour and 10 minutes.



NIFF Team played a great role in making this 3 day event successful for the Media students and the cine lovers to be aware and learn from the current new wave of cinema. Benazir Kaazi- a professional anchor hosted the entire event in the iLEAD auditorium to make the audience appreciate the message spread through these short films. The NEZ International Film Festival at iLEAD like the previous years was yet another successful endeavor through the joint and active effort of  iLEAD and  NEZ team.

iLEAD students on the auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day presented a grand celebration for their mentors. With the welcome addressed delivered by iLEAD Chairman Mr. Pradip Chopra , there was a range of performances which included poem recitation, dance performances by students of BMS 1A, Comedy Act by students of BBA and BMS, Bhangra Performance, Short Skit by M.Sc Sem 3 and much more. Added to charm of the day, was a special felicitation of some mentors.

The awards included  ‘Most Punctual Mentor’, given to Dr Ishita Datta Ray, ‘Smiling Face’ given to iLEAD principal Dr Sudipto Bhattacharya, ‘Cultural Queen’ given to Ms Aishwarya Chatterjee and ‘Students Choice Awards’ given to Ms Anindita Bose to name a few.   The teacher elated with the performances, the gratitude and the gifts by the students will cherish this celebration for a long time to come.

iLEAD took home the College of The Year Award at t2 Festopolis 2017 organized by The Telegraph powered by Brand Factory, in association with Puslar NS200 and Elle 18.  There were various rounds at this inter-college festival with categories like music, dance, etc. iLEAD students participated in many of these rounds  and won gloriously with iLEAD being declared the College of The Year at the end.    iLEAD student Arijit Paul won the 2nd Runner Up prize in 3 Min to Fame while Banti Singh won the 1st prize in Fitness Mania. Sarbik Datta, Nisha Agarwal, Ronit, Debasmita Saha, Vaishali Singhania, Pranay Ghosh won 1st prize in ‘hot stepper’ while Fazal Elahi, Gulam Ashraf, Fakhruddin Dahodwala, Rajesh Yadav, Aditi Singh, Jayshree Roy, Anushka Upasak, Debasmita Saha won 2nd Runner Up prize in Fashionopolis Round.  iLEAD student Debasmita Saha won Senco Gold Diva for Best Fresh look.  After being declared the Best Co Curricular Activity College at Gurukul Awards 2017, this was an award that got added to iLEAD’s list of achievements.

Model United Nations Workshop at iLEAD 

iLEAD organized a workshop in association with Bhawanipur Education Society on Model United Nation campaign which is hosted in prestigious educational institutions throughout the world. The aim of this workshop is to create global leaders who are excellent speakers and have diplomatic skills to solve the major issues which impact global integrity and peace. The setup was a simulation of the actual United Nations assembly. The best solution provider from these campaigns is also given the chance to be a part of the original United Nations and his/her message is directly channelized to the main United Nations or its sub bodies. From the iLEAD, the students of Management and Media along with their respected teachers were also present in the occasion. The session was interactive where the representatives of the Bhawanipur Education Society and iLEAD discussed with each other about the nature and scope of the Model United Nations program. The workshop was conducted in two parts. In the initial part a brief introduction was given about the nature, scope and department of the United Nations along with the importance of Model United Nations for helping the main body for solving complex global political, strategic and diplomatic issues. A video was shown on the Model United Nations program where the students were participating in a simulated UN assembly and having discussion on all pertinent global issues.
The workshop also put light on the rules of action of the Model United Nations. After the initial session a group was chosen from the audience to make a mock Model United Nations and try to figure out the solution of a burning global issue. Several students and faculty of iLEAD asked the Bhawanipur Education Society representatives about how to deal with the complex issues of Feminisim, Islamophobia, Global terrorism and even how to cope up with the socio economic challenges of Africa. The workshop also focused on the fact that there is also a separate UN News Center where the students interested in writing, photography, designing can contribute their skill to publish a news letter on the happenings in various Mock United Nations Conferences.

The objective of this workshop was to create strong leadership and diplomatic skills among the students where their solutions to the major problems of the world will get a global platform and help the nations of the world build a better world of tomorrow.
