THE 2.4 MTPA GREENFIELD PROJECT SPREAD OVER 134 ACRES WITH AN INVESTMENT OF
RS 800 CR WOULD PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO THE VILLAGES IN AND AROUND SALBONI IN THE NEXT 2 TO 3 YEARS AND CHANGE THE ECONOMIC LANDSCAPE OF THE REGION
 
The foundation stone for setting up a Rs 800-crore cementplant of JSW Cement Ltd was laid here today by the Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, in the presence of Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman, JSW Group, Mr. Parth Jindal, Mr. Pankaj Kulkarni, Director, JSW Cement Ltd, and Mr. Anil Kumar Pillai, Director & CEO, JSW Cement Ltd. Mr. Biswadip Gupta, President Corporate Affairs, JSW Steel Ltd, was also present on the occasion along with other dignitaries.
 
“We are very excited to embark on this new journey in West Bengal. We have been a dominant player in India as far as Portland SlagCement is concerned and we would like to maintain this momentum in the eastern market as well. Our plan is to expand our production capacity from 5.9 MT at present to 20 MT in the next three years,” said Mr. Parth Jindal at the inaugural function.
The new cement project in Salboni, located 160 kilometres from Kolkata, will house a 2.4 MTPA cementplant that will boost JSW Cement's capacity to produce  Portland Slag Cement (PSC) and Ground-Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) cement that would further consolidate JSW Cement's competitive and leadership position in the market in the future.
“The PSC market share in West Bengal is around 40 to 45 per cent and we will firm up plans to garner a larger share of the pie. We are committed to the society and by manufacturing PSC at Salboni in West Bengal we are conserving natural resources and reducing the carbon footprint in this part of the country. The PSC that we make is greencement,” said Mr. Parth Jindal at the inaugural function.
The Salboni cement plant will mark JSW Cement’s entry into the eastern markets of India. JSW Cementis looking to catapult itself into the top cement manufacturers in India and become the largest manufacturer of PSC. Currently, PSC has a 45 per cent market share in the cement industry in eastern India and is among the most eco-friendly type of cement that reduces harmful carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
JSW Cement Ltd will use 134 acres and invest 800 crores in setting up its cement plant. Land for thiscement plant has been assigned out of the land acquired for the proposed Steel plant of the group. Thecement plant will create job opportunities for the villages surrounding Salboni over the next two to three years and will play a positive role in changing the profile of Salboni and West Bengal to the rest of India in a very positive way.

  1. Thanks for sharing.... I also want to share something with you .... Stainless Steel Fibre is used in reinforce monolithic refractories against thermal and mechanical shock by reducing cracking and spalling susceptibility.
